Course Overview
The RIISAM212E – Service Mine Plant and Equipment unit equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently service, refuel, and perform basic maintenance on mine and civil machinery. This nationally recognised course is designed for those entering the mining, quarrying or civil construction industry, as well as existing workers looking to formalise their experience. Students will learn how to identify and carry out servicing requirements on heavy equipment in compliance with workplace procedures and environmental regulations.
Graduates commonly gain employment as service crew members, trade assistants, pit service persons, or workshop labourers, working on tasks such as refuelling, oil changes, equipment inspections, and supporting maintenance teams on site.
