RIISAM212E – Service Mine plant and equipment

The RIISAM212E – Service Mine Plant and Equipment unit equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently service, refuel, and perform basic maintenance on mine and civil machinery. This nationally recognised course is designed for those entering the mining, quarrying or civil construction industry, as well as existing workers looking to formalise their experience. Students will learn how to identify and carry out servicing requirements on heavy equipment in compliance with workplace procedures and environmental regulations.

Graduates commonly gain employment as service crew members, trade assistants, pit service persons, or workshop labourers, working on tasks such as refuelling, oil changes, equipment inspections, and supporting maintenance teams on site. These roles are often advertised on major job boards such as Seek, Indeed, and WorkPac, as well as directly through mine operators, labour hire companies, and contractors. Training is delivered on mine-spec equipment in a real-world environment to prepare you for genuine site conditions and ensure you meet industry expectations.

Students who successfully complete all assessment requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment for: RIISAM212E – Service Mine Plant and Equipment.
This certification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
