WHAT IS THE COURSE FOR?
The Standard 11 Course is also known as the “Generic Induction”.
This S11 course teaches “generic” safety protocols and rules specifically designed around mining – Please note: once employed, mines often conduct a site specific induction tailored to their site regulations.
The standard 11 course is along the same lines as a construction industry safety course (white card) but is designed for mining and is more in-depth.
Apart from teaching safety protocols, it also teaches you how to correctly fill out safety documentation on site, how to read the site safety signs etc.
WHO CAN UNDERTAKE THIS COURSE?
The Standard 11 course is designed for both experienced and inexperienced workers.
Please note: You are required to have basic English skills so if you have learning difficulties or are new to the country and feel that language may be a barrier, it is best to call us on 1300 414 341. We can chat about the mining courses we offer in Ipswich. Don’t let this stop you from completing the course and fulfilling your goal of working in the mining industry!
WHY DO THIS COURSE?
The generic induction is required on most mines in QLD and is a pathway to gaining entry into the mining sector.
Other states do not necessarily require it, but, if you have no prior mining experience, doing the standard 11 course will show the mines you are pro-active about safety.
