Have you been searching the various companies that complete mining training and getting confused by which company / courses to choose?
Maybe you have received our information about our course packages and seen the information about a Job Ready Pack but want to know a bit more about it.
Here at My Solution Training we understand that the process of gaining a mining career can be very nerve racking and confusing.
You hear so many conflicting stories about what courses you should do, whether you should even do courses, where to look for work, how your “mate” or neighbour or the bloke at the footy got into mining and sometimes the more you hear, the more confused you become.
My Solution Training understand that frustration and have decided to create a package to guide you through your mining journey – not only offering free advice, training in various courses, but also the path required to follow after the training, and the skills and knowledge to ensure that you can find and land that dream job.
So the obvious thing to do is complete our Machinery training to give yourself some “hands on” and theoretical skills regarding both the operating of machinery and the safety requirements specific to mining (for more information about this click on the following link:- Steps to getting into mining )
JOB READY PACK:- What is a Job Ready Pack
Researching information about mining and doing courses that will assist you in getting noticed by the companies are great things to do, but you do that and start looking at Seek and can’t see many entry level roles – they all want 6-12 months of experience, so where on earth are you going to find work? Who employs for the industry? How should you go about applying for a role that you do see?
This is where the job ready pack comes in.
After many years of conducting training courses and providing advice to students, My Solution Training decided to put together an information pack with the following information:-
Company names – you will be provided with an editable spreadsheet of companies that employ for the industry and their career web pages and contact details
Profile advice – some companies require you to set up a profile so we provide advice on this
Job Alerts – In the career section the companies may allow you to set up job alerts to notify of you of suitable jobs and we provide you with a list of options to enter in this section to give you the best chance of seeing the right jobs
Social Media advice – We provide advice on using social media to your advantage (for do’s and don’ts of social media and your job click here )
Interview advice – You are provided with a comprehensive e-book on the steps to navigate the interview process and what to say to succeed
Re-cap of your training – We have created an e-book to assist you with a basic overview of your machinery training to look over before going to site
Mining lingo – as Aussies we love our slang and acronyms and mining is no exception, so we have created a list to provide you so that when you go to site you do not feel like you are entering a country where you do not speak the language
So after completing a course with My Solution Training you should have:-
- Qualifications to get a start in the industry
- Safety and mine site protocol knowledge
- A list of companies who employ for the industry and how to apply through them
- Information about how to have a successful interview
- General knowledge about mining
The last thing on your list is a document that you can present to a company to try and get them interested in meeting you and possibly employing you – better known as a resume and cover letter. Resumes for mining are quite unique and need particular wording to get through the computer scanning programs the companies use. Whilst this is not part of the job ready pack, we do offer this service – click on the resume link to find out more.
Armed will all the knowledge provided, employment leads, qualifications and documents such as nationally accredited certificates and resume/cover letter, you will have the tools required to tackle the job hunting within mining. The next step is to get out there and get that job!!
