So by now you have probably looked at all the courses we can provide and may have an idea of what training you want to do but the next question you may have is “Once I get my tickets, where do I start looking for jobs – all the jobs on seek want experienced operators”
Don’t worry, we have that covered too!
FINDING A JOB ONCE YOU COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING
We know that most companies do not use seek for entry level roles as they would be inundated – in fact they have their own websites and advertise on this site Some companies may also use their Linkedin and or FaceBook pages.
To assist you with this and more, we have created a JOB READY PACK that will give you the guidance to finding your roles including:
- Comprehensive list of companies and their career web address and telephone numbers.
- Information on setting up your profile and job alerts with the companies.
- General information about mining and the terminology used in mining.
- A list of FAQ’s we get asked about mining and living as a miner.
INTERVIEW STEPS
Many people wanting to start in mining do not come from a mining background and have no idea what to expect in an interview for the mines, let alone what to say.
That’s where our JOB READY PACK comes in. Included in this pack we also provide you with a comprehensive guide to :
- What to do to prepare yourself for the interview
- What to say in the interview
- Things that you may be asked
- Scenarios that you may be presented with
- What NOT to say in the interview
RESUME
Okay so once you have completed our course and got your JOB READY PACK, you will have the qualification/training for the role, the knowledge of where to find the jobs, the steps to take to ace the interview but one of the equally important steps in mining is to have the right resume to get you to the interview stage.
DID YOU KNOW: that many companies have adopted a resume scanning program that reads your resume looking for “key words” that the employer has entered into the system. So no matter how skilled you are, if you do not have these words in the resume you will not get through the scanning program.
DID YOU KNOW: that most employers will spend about 10 seconds looking at your resume and if it looks too complicated to read or too word heavy, they will not bother reading it as they simply don’t have the time.
DID YOU KNOW: that in all an employer will only spend 1-2 minutes reading your entire resume so it is not very long to get your employability across.
This is why a professional resume can be important so we have teamed up with Resume Righters who have over 8 years experience tailoring resumes to suit the industry and give you a fighting chance to get that interview.
