Water Cart Driver Training
Course Overview
The RIIMPO206D – Conduct Bulk Water Truck Operations course provides practical, nationally accredited training for participants looking to develop the skills required to safely operate a bulk water truck, commonly referred to as a water cart.
Water trucks play an important role across mining and quarrying operations, particularly for dust suppression and maintaining safe driving and working conditions. Operators are responsible for transporting and distributing water throughout the site to help control dust generated by machinery and ongoing operations.
My Solution Training’s course combines operational knowledge with hands-on experience using machinery similar to that encountered within the mining industry. Participants receive one-on-one access to an experienced trainer, allowing them to spend valuable time behind the controls and develop confidence operating the machine.
The course is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced machinery operators, making it an excellent entry point for people looking to begin or expand a career within the mining and resources industry.

Why Train on a Water Truck?
Bulk water trucks play an important role across many mining operations, helping to suppress dust and maintain safer working and driving conditions throughout the site.
Water trucks are also automatic and can be relatively straightforward to operate compared with some other types of heavy mining machinery. This can make Water Truck Training a practical option for people looking to develop machinery operating skills and pursue entry-level opportunities within the industry.
Combining a Water Truck qualification with additional machinery training can also help you work towards becoming a multi-skilled operator, giving you a broader range of skills when pursuing employment opportunities.
Training Packages
Water Truck Training can be packaged with several other mining courses, including:
- Articulated Haul Truck / Moxy Training
- Dump Truck Training
- Standard 11 (S11) Induction
Combining courses can provide you with a broader range of practical skills and qualifications when preparing to pursue opportunities within the mining industry.
