The G2 Course covers the nationally accredited unit RIIRIS402E – Carry Out the Risk Management Processes. Recognised as a Level 4 qualification, the course complements the G1 risk management unit included within the Mining Supervisor course and is designed to further develop the skills required to effectively identify, assess and manage workplace risks.

Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Training is delivered through Infront Training, trading as My Solution Training – RTO 31137.

The G2 Course is designed for people looking to take on greater responsibility within their workplace and progress towards supervisory or leadership positions. Rather than being positioned as an entry-level pathway into mining, the course is particularly suited to workers who already have industry experience and want to strengthen their skills and advance their careers.

The qualification is relevant to people working across mining, civil construction, resources, quarrying, heavy industry and other operational or supervisory environments where effective risk management forms an important part of day-to-day workplace responsibilities.

Develop Practical Risk Management Skills

Effective risk management is an essential responsibility for supervisors working in high-risk operational environments. The G2 Course develops practical skills across the complete risk management process, helping participants confidently identify, assess and respond to workplace hazards and risks.

Throughout the course, participants learn how to identify hazards, assess risks, determine whether risks are acceptable, implement appropriate control measures and review the effectiveness of those controls. Participants also develop the skills required to audit risk management processes and maintain appropriate workplace records and reports.

Entry Requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and have sufficient English language, literacy and comprehension skills to understand the course material and successfully complete the required assessments.

There are no formal prerequisite qualifications specified for the G2 Course. Participants who experience learning difficulties, have dyslexia or believe English-language requirements may present a barrier to completing the course are encouraged to contact My Solution Training before commencing. Additional assistance and trainer support can be arranged where required.

The G2 Course is delivered entirely online and is self-paced, providing participants with the flexibility to complete their training around existing work and personal commitments.
