COURSE PACKAGES

We have created a range of packages to suit your needs and your budget. These packages are not only designed for the mining industry but can also assist you get into local earthmoving including roadworks, bulk earthworks and quarry work.

Please note: Whilst many companies do offer “on the job” training, you are competing with hundreds of people for that job so you need a winning edge, especially if you have no machinery background. Most employers are impressed with people who are pro-active and “think outside the box” to get the job, so by doing the training you may give yourself that edge needed.

Additionally the training will give you a better understanding of the safety procedures involved in mining and help you use the “right” words in the interview to impress the interviewer. Targeting certain machinery can be enough to get you into the industry but the more machines you have ‘under your belt”, the more job opportunities open up to you and assist you to becoming a multi-skilled operator earning a much higher wage.

S11 INDUCTION
This is the safety S11 course that allows you onto a mine site. It provides you with site safety protocols you must adhere to on site and the safety documentation you will be required to complete on a regular basis.

RIGID HAUL TRUCK
This machine is the most used piece of machinery on site and is relatively easy to operate so is considered entry level machine.

BULK WATER CART
This machine is extremely important on site as it provides the necessary dust suppression but again is relatively easy to operate so is considered entry level machinery.

ARTICULATED HAUL TRUCK
Whilst these machines are not used as often in the production side of mining it can be a great ticket to get as it can also help in the construction side in both mining and civil work.

FRONT END LOADER
This machine is used in all areas of mining and construction work and can assist you to move into the excavators at a later date (an excavator operator is one of the most important roles in mining as you are responsible for loading the trucks of anything up to 50 dump truck operators per shift so you have to be highly skilled for this role).

EXCAVATOR
Gaining this qualification will not get you an immediate role in the mines as they do expect you to have some experience for an excavator role but it can assist with getting into the construction side of mining or the earthmoving industry outside of mining, making it a worthwhile addition (and also allowing you to eventually move into an excavator role in mining).

BOBCAT
This can be a great step up to excavator and loader roles and is great for the construction industry, helping you to get a foot in the door.Remember, the more tickets you have the better your chances.
